1982 kz750 LTD Project Poll
06 Feb 2021 08:56 - 06 Feb 2021 08:57
Hey guys! I need your help with my project. I don’t quite know which way to go with it. Personally, I don’t find the LTD very attractive with its leading axle and very small tank, but always wanted a 4 inline and at $450 CAN, I could not let it pass. I have been looking and looking and thinking and thinking and spending countless sleepless night formulating ideas and scenarios and I haven’t found one yet. IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!
So that’s why I need your expertise and wise suggestions.
#1 idea: Stock bike but with 4into1
#2 idea: Semi stock with 4into1, superbike bars and slimmer seat
#3 idea: Cafe style
#4 idea: Vintage style
#5 idea: Yours
See pictures for reference.
Thank you sooooo much for your inputs, really appreciated.
JL

Given that your bike is mostly complete, I'd be going towards stock.

#2. My 650-CSR is pretty much the same as your motorcycle. same frame, same muffler system, same chrome bits, same sm tank & side covers. I kinda patterned the refurbish on a 750E. most changes were stock-type & direct bolt-on. Instead of an ironing board seat, you might could go with a 750E seat. I like the stepped Ltd/CSR seat as it keeps your butt planted when you twist the wrist. ![:) :)](/media/kunena/emoticons/8.png)

If you're starting out with a nice bike I think #2 is the best option. That way if the next guy in line wants to go back to stock all he has to do is change the bars and exhaust, no permanent modifications.

My vote is for mostly stock with superbike bars - maybe some rearsets if you find the stock footpegs uncomfortable.
I personally find the “cafe/bobber” trend unfortunate and annoying, but if it’s your thing you may as well go for it.
