A little write-up in case anyone in the future is interested in this swap -
I finally bit the bullet about a month ago on a GT750 wheel from the UK - pleased to report that it fits perfectly with stock Shaft/Spectre spacers on the axles. It does raise the ride height by about 1/2" (with stock 120/90-18 tire), and with my KZ900 shocks the wheel touches the ground when on the center stand; if you're using stock rear suspension it shouldn't be an issue. You may also want to find a longer side stand. Finally, the inner plastic fender rubs a bit now - it's always been hanging a bit, so I'll secure it more firmly.
Total cost to import was roughly $140 to USA due to shipping. My rear tire was toast, so I needed a new one anyway, which turned out to be about $10 cheaper than a 130/90-16. I believe my investment will be justified in about 98,000 miles.
