Before and after, just cleaned and assembled from various across the product line in those years, and a lot of info gathered from threads posted here, thanks, front end from different 750's, wanted dual brakes, rebuilt calipers and mc, replaced wiring harness, old was toast, pair of old Z1 bars , old were bent, and a pair of old Z1 mirrors, for now, had them, headlight is a Stanley 1970 model for h4 lamp h4 led works well, moved blinkers off bars, switched headlight and running lights, (used a repo Z1 unit easy to do), tank is from a 750, (needed a really short 44mm petcock), paint is spray cans, found a seat on ebay, rear wheel is from a 550, (thanks martin csr), carbs from a 78 rebuilt and working well, all epa stuff gone, new brakes and pads, chain and sprockets, new tires as the ones that came with the wheels were really old, Dunlop d404s, were reasonable, Delkevic pipe was most reasonable for that , just having some fun with this, and after looking at the other projects going on this is nothing, time for a can of patience( comes in 6 or 12 packs) it hot out, thanks

Naw, just an old (71), retired electrician,(45yrs), last job was at some horse track out here,(20yrs), got back into riding 3 yrs ago, woke up the Z1 from 35 yrs of rest, likes to try local beers and sippin rums, the bike was free, no papers, (Bernie in VT. cashed the check and sent me papers and a plate), most all purchases were quite reasonable, as compared to Z1 stuff,
, and after being parked in the shed all winter it told me it wanted to look like its grandfather, were calming down with the covid here for now, hope all stay healthy, jf

Wow. I have always loved that color scheme. I had a Z2 750 back in the day with the same colors, but it was stolen from the parking lot at the now gone Orange County Raceway drag strip in Irvine, CA. I rode it twice down the strip, and locked it up in the parking lot to watch a friend run. Came back less than an hour later and it was gone. I never got over that theft.
You have a couple gorgeous bikes!

Thank you, bet your two ain't too shabby, and sorrry for that loss years ago, ot many of them were over here, 650 is just getting test rides around neighborhood right now, carb function, brakes etc. a very different ride between that and the Z, not used to it, but will adjust, the color started with a white prime, duplicolor, (ford chrome yellow), and the base and candy green, from RS in UK, couldn't find rattles here, it ain't perfect, but I don't care, not a 10 footer, maybe a 20, stay healthy!

a follow up as I don't log in very often, not into social networking, original pipes, bs32's from an 82, all thanks to Marty in Buffalo, on of his kaw pasture fire sales, never took time to thank him, still gotta send a six pack to the other side of the state, and badges that just materialized!! runs real well, put about 1000 mile on it, no issues, would have more but when you have a 900 and a 650, what would you ride the most? 900 wins

Seems we all grew up in the same neighborhood. OCIR was one of my favorite hangouts in the 70's. Thanks for the memories fellas.
