Looks wise I think it's perfect.
Not as comfy as the stock seat but way more comfortable than my $600.00 Sargent seat on my ducati, and that was a improvement over the stock seat.
So feels great to me.
Probably sell the stock seat and buy more parts.
Looking for a oil cooler and fittings now.

Got some work done on it.
The new front is on.
Forks are rebuilt with 3/4 " spacers.
I welded brackets on the upper tree and a steering stop / steering damper bracket.
Polished everything and put some new rubber on it.
Starting on the rear next.

Just did a test fit. There is no way that zx7 swingarm will fit.
Even if I took all I safely could off the swingarm and frame I would still need 3/8 .
Guess I will start shopping for a zx6 or 636 swingarm.
Glad I smoothed and polished this one first.
Probably scrap it with the zx7 frame.

GSXR 600 swingarm dropped right into my frame.

In fact,this is a list Leon made when I was looking for a suitable swingarm;
97-03 gsxr 600 (no upper brace)
92 gsxr 1100 (no upper or lower brace)
those should install much like the gs arm.

these will take some modification but have been used on kz's in the past (and present)

99-07 busa needs upper brace removed(possibly lower brace added)
03-04 zx6/636 needs the pivot machined narrower
01-05 fz1 needs the pivot machined narrower

What do you all think these are worth?
Its all in great condition, just put on the new tires so I could ride it for a few miles so I knew it was running right before the build.
Would be nice to start recouping some money to finish it.
Not having any luck selling the parts off the zx7r parts bike .

Hi how you doing .. this is my kz build . how it more or less was when I got it altho, I had taken the four foot high sissy bar off and the vetter fairing before that pic . i built mine with zx9r 1995 front end and zx9r wheels . I also fitted a gsxr 600 swing arm from 2003 .. of Couse a lot more mods then listed .. one thing people make the mistake on with kz resto mods is not enough ground clearance so watch that esp if you like to ride hard .. im looking forward to seeing more of your project as you move on with it .. im just starting another one .. I bought a bare frame from a breakers yard and just fitted a zrx1100 front end in the process of finding all my other bits .. keep us updated with your project :)

The zx6 swingarm fits much better .
Spent a day stripping and polishing it first.
I took a1/8 off the width and enlarged the holes to use the zx6 bolt. Now I got to make some brackets ,mounts and frame bracing.

Got some aftermarketgsxr rearsets.
Made some adapters and a kickstandstop.
The kickstand hangs a bit low but I don't think it will rub but will keep a eye on it.

Finally got to take it for a test ride.
A few bugs to work out but I was surprised how well it worked out.
It rides , handles and stops so much better than stock.
I had a stock kz guy over buying parts and was trying to tell me it was going to be much heavier, but I knew it was going to be lighter.
The thing I like best is how light it feels now.
Now I'm trying to decide on the paint.
I am a artist and custom painter but I really like it in plain black.
Though about blue pearl and metallic or some red stockish graphics. Mabe airbrushed true fire flames.
