Wow been sometime...but over winter did manage to do a semi Resto on my 78 z1r.
As you will see I’m not using the original engine as I found damage that’s was unrepairable. So I’m using a 1980 mk2 built with a 1200 cc kit welded crank 436 cams degreed pierde head and 33mm.

Very tasteful mods , VERY awesome looking bike and glad you didn't chop . How do you like the 33'S with the 1200 and 436 cams ? Any head work besides the cams? I have the same motor 1197 with 410's with big valves and rs34's ,Larry did the head . Pulls like raped APE . Are you running any filtration in the stacks ? Took my stacks off and put on APE pods till I make a guard of some sort .

Real nice job on the Z1R !!!!!!
Bozo,
I bet you start shaking when you see a Z1R while you are away from your ride
Best to both

They work great but I think a set 36mm Mikuni would work a little better.
But like the old look on my z1r

If only you knew. All I think about is riding the Z when I get back to Perth. At present I'm riding an FJ 1200 because they are great value for money in Oz, like the Z they are also a great bike
