So much great info and what a beautiful job !!! Bike of the month was so well deserved.

Have to ask about what you got for that GS1000S. Was surprised when I seen the weight of that guy.... always have wanted one but the cost and to be honest the weight has kinda talked me outta it. Still Torn between a muscle car and another project (love the 77-78 KZ 1000s (semi drag look) with spoked wheels, low bars etc) ......if I pick the later I will follow this guide to the letter.

1978 KZ650 b-2
700cc Wiseco kit 10 to 1.
1980 KZ750 cam, ape springs, stock clutch/ Barnett springs.
Vance and Hines Header w/ comp baffle and Ape pods, Dyna S and green coils, copper wires.
29MM smooth bores W/ 17.5 pilots, 0-6s and 117.5 main
16/42 gearing X ring chain and alum rear JT sprocket.

The GS1000S is about the same weight as a KZ1000. They are both similar bikes in many regards. Value is a notch below a Z1R, but still pretty decent. There is a lot of bad information out in the internet about the number of S's produced; they were a limited release model but not as rare as some claim them to be. At any rate, I made money on both the S's I redid, but I'm not interested in doing another.

Thank you for reminding me of what a pleasure it is to ride a KZ750, I almost forgot, its winter here and I haven't been on it for a while, I almost traded it for a Kawasaki Concours, the owner said it was too big for him.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Updated the photos in this thread! Yeah! Freaking Photosuckit can put it where the sun don't shine! Unbelieveable that they would have the audacity to want to charge people $400/year for a service that was previously free. At any rate, all better now!

Yeah considering it's only $15 for a 32 G card and you can keep them forever.
