I'm very excited about my new project, I 1980 Kawasaki Kz750 LTD Just like my old 1978 kz650! but 100cc's bigger lol!
Anyways, this one was a shed find, been sitting 2 years and I need a grocery list of things that will need to be replaced to get her running again.
My current list is
New battery
Rebuild and clean carbs
New spark plug wires
Oil change and fresh gas
New ignition
Spark plugs
Boom to riding status
Then I plan on doing upgrades possibly a cafe racer or a bobber, but i don't want to mislead harley riders(On my kz650 I had people asking me if it was an old school harley sense kawasaki was no where to be seen on the bike, not even the casings)

Welcome aboard.
I'd also add to the list a full blown tune up that starts with checking and adjusting the valve lash. It is very important and too often ignored. I'd bet real money the tires need to be replaced as well.

Be sure to read up on the automatic cam chain tensioner. I reset it after checking the valves.

Manual. 1980-84 KZ750-4. 1983-85 ZX750. 750turbo.com --- Index .
The pdf manual link is near the bottom of the list. good pdf scans.

Wiring diagrams. mbsween. bike-night. KZ750L3 . Scroll down & click "The Bible" link.
the site has wiring diagrams & a manual that isn't scanned as good as the one on the Turbo site.
Note: some of the wiring diagrams are mislabeled in the links: the 1981 Ltd is an H2, the 82 is an H3, & the 83 is an H4.

That depends on who you ask. The fsm says to set it so that multiple valves can be checked at once. Some here say that is wrong and the valve lash should only be checked with the lobe pointing directly away from the valve. With stock cams, I'd go with the fsm.
