What would you do to my bike? was created by JENKFITLIFE02
I want to wrap the pipes, and get new gauges....what would you do to my bike? Should I chop it up or keep it classic?

I would just ride the shit out of it. That style is the classic Kawasaki no-nonsense, all-business styling. It'e not trying to be some show queen.

Header wrap tends to look really shabby pretty quickly, with mud and carbon etc.

If you want to make the pipes look nicer, maybe look into a set of stainless Delkevics.

If you are considering paint, I'd look to ebay for some used body parts. That way you won't lose the original paint.

It is your motorcycle...do what you want...but, if you start cutting and chopping and making permanent alterations, then the resale value tends to start dropping. The models that tend to be worth more are the standards KZ750E (which yours is), KZ750L, and KZ750R.

I would just ride it. It looks great as is. Ask yourself this - when is the last time you saw a bike that looks the same as yours? Most likely the answer is never, so trying to mod it to make it different doesn't make sense because your bike is already different than anything you are likely to see on the road. Stock survivors are getting rarer every single day, so wrapping the pipes, painting it, chopping it would be a big mistake, but it's your bike not mine. Ed

That's not to say don't do some customizing. Find a basket case on craigslist for dirt cheap, preferably one that someone else already cut up... and cut and weld on that thing.

Lol i see that! You guys are right, the chopped look its really cool but a little hipster esque for my style. I think getting some newer cleaner pipes, cleaning up the chipped paint and maybe a new seat is all this lady needs. I've had old hondas, suzukis, but this is by far my fave bike.

I have no idea why people screw up bikes. I generously offer $100 for each of them on craigslist, explaining that my offer is low because bike was butchered.

The 750 is a fantastic bike, I'm on the lookout for one myself. Kawasaki just got that one right, they ran and drove as good as any machine in thier day and sadly there are not so many original examples left. I would recommend if want to start a project that you consider a restoration project not a chop/bob/cafe...

Seriously the "factory" did one hell of a job on those bikes, most attempt to "improve" will just make it slower and harder to drive.

If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

I dont know Steve. The good thing about half assed cafe racers is that most of the time, they just change the seat for a plank, flip the bars over call it a cafe racer (and put a silly price tag on it). When thats the case, returning to standard isnt such a big deal
This one is a lot of money, Wow! but seems like hes spent a lot in the right places. Put a proper seat back on it and youre pretty much there. The tape and the exhaust wrap should peel off easy enough. If the engine is sorted, like he says, you can have a nice looking bike that should last you a while.
Or you could just go out and buy a YFZKRGXS and matching leathers!
