83 440 LTD belt and 81 550 LTD parts interchange was created by pumps
I have an 83 440 LTD belt with 6800 miles that was next to a house that caught fire and it has some melted parts on the right front corner. I came a cross an 81 550LTD parts bike pretty cheap that from the pictures looks decent enough (bad motor) and I wonder if the tank / seat and right side controls might fit? I wasn't able to figure it out from the fiche.

No, not even close. The tank may be made to work with some modificatons, maybe.

440's are pretty common and parts bikes are cheap.
If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

Pumps send me a Pm and let me know what you need as far as controls I might be able to help you out. Have you bought the 550 already or are you just considering it ?

Strange that you would end up with a bike damaged by a fire. Aren't you a firefighter.by profession ? ;)
