KZ900 LTD: Should I go for it?

Hi,
I'm relatively new to motorcycles; I ride an 18 year old 250 by another brand, never ridden anything different. It is EASY to work on and very reliable, but small and embarrassing. I now have the chance to pick up a great looking '76 KZ900 LTD. It ran- and not badly- a year ago.
Is this a bike I can use for my daily commute without having to earn another degree to keep it going? Is there something I should know in advance?
I'm spending this Saturday evening Googling it.

It is a great classic bike to own...but how much effort you may have to put into it is directly related to how the previous owners maintained it. If it was loved and not thrashed, then the transition might be relatively easy. If not, you may end up like many of us...spending many hours wrenching attempting to get these babies back on the road.

As Mcdroid said - a great classic bike to own... you may have to put time and effort in to get it back on the road but it's so worth it once you're on the highway, sun on your back, enjoying the ride.
