Found this bike yesterday and bought it a true barn find. The guy bought it new in Havre Montana and road it back up to Saskatchewan and it has sat in the garage for the last 37 years. I only spent about 25 minutes cleaning it up, to get it running I will need to clean gas tank rusty inside change all fluids put new seals in front forks and change the oil in them, take carbs off and give them a check and then add battery and see if she runs.

Incredible find! The barn must have kept the bike completely sealed from the elements. No rats nests, or wasp nests anywhere? From the pictures that bike would be worth a lot of money as is. Just needs an original seat to make it complete. Great score!

Be careful leaving it out in the sun. The original clear coat will lift. The tank on my Z1 was mint condition until we pulled it out of a long storage.

New 4 to 4 pipes alone would cost $1,600.00. And that is for new replicas. Originals in the mint condition like yours may be worth more to the right person. Make sure you do everything possible to keep them from rusting. All drain holes clear etc....

I'm curious if yours is a made in Japan or one assembled in Nebraska? You should check the VIN's and find out.

People on this site who have knowledge regarding this topic say that the ones made in Japan have the side panel covers color is a good match with the tank and tail, unlike the U.S. assembled ones.

Yours looks like the color matching is the same throughout the bike.

Very Nice! What a score! Money well spent!
Should be an episode with "Dale Walksler" Wheels through time!
New season starts with "What's in the barn" June 10th.
But, don't touch a thing, find an ebay , $150 stock flat seat.
Clean all the parts. rebuild what you have to.
That will grow $$$ faster than any other 401K, mutual fund or bank account!

Now is this a real story? ???? Real motorcycle?????

Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!
