99 kz1000p dual setup
15 May 2014 11:37
I live in central america and iv recently arguired a
1999 kz1000 police bike. The bike had been sitting for 2 years so I already b cleaned and v rebuilt the fuel system. After a quick trip to mexico the bike ran terrible on the way back. Turns out my valves are way tight..... So as I wait for the shims my uncle sent me I decided to do some custom work to it.
Basically my idea is having a duel setup: a touring Police cruiser special and a cafe/naked sport bike.
The pics will speak more....

Hows the cut down windshield effect the wind when riding? I have a bike with a Wind Jammer on it that I really want to cut down the shield to a smaller height like yours but want to know what effects it will have. I will have to follow this one as my other bike could easily follow this path!

Im not a big fan of windshields in the first place...
my trimmed one works great when in a tuck but just barely deflects the wind over in normal position.

Great thats about what I expected I guess. The way mine is now it actually hits the top of my face and helmet enough that it creates a weird wind buffeting that gave me a headache on a highway cruise. Down comes the shield! Thanks

Valve shims finally came in! After swap the bikes pushing about 110 psi compression. Hoping to start painting within the week.
