Kawasaki never used Phillips head bolts on KZ models; they are Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS). I just wanted to clarify that for anyone reading this who might try to tackle the original bolts/screws with a Phillips screwdriver - bad idea. ;)

None the less, rusty bolts of any flavor look like crap, and your replacements look good. :) Ed

I'm sure they can be pounded out with an impact driver, but the problem is that the Phillips screwdriver tips are too pointy to properly seat in a JIS screw, so the crosshead slots will deform. No standard Phillips screwdriver bit will ever fit like a JIS bit or modified Phillips. Below is a picture of how they should fit. When they fit like this no impact driver is needed to remove them. Sure, why use the correct tool when you can reach for a hammer? Ed

Impact driver isn't half so effective as the tool I pictured.

I You can't fix it with hammer, it is an electrical issue :)
