Gearing

Have just finished my Z1000 mk2. Put zx6 front and rear end on. Love the fat 17"wheel look. I am running 525 pitch chain and a 17 tooth 1/2"offset front sprocket; however, with the 40 tooth rear sprocket it is way too slow.
What size 525 pitch rear sprocket do I need to get close to the standard 15/33 630 pitch on 18"rims?
Cheers.

15/33=2.2
17/40=2.35 where you are now
17/38=2.23 little bit quicker then the 15/33 setup
17/37=2.17 little bit more top end then 15/33

Hope this helps
I just did the change in the rear because those offsets are alot of $$$$$

The MK11 came with 15/33? I thought they came with 15/35 like most other models. I thought the LTD's came with 15/33 because of the smaller rear tire...in height. Either way, if it feels slow you probably need to INCREASE the teeth on rear sprocket. Larger rear sprocket will give you better pick-up but raise your rpm at any given speed over a smaller one while the opposite is true if you go smaller on the rear. 15/35 is a 2.33 ratio also.
1980 LTD (changed over the years), 1979 LTD (being rebuilt), 1977 KZ turbo and various KZ's in various states of build. KLX110

Thanks for all the replies. It was all a bit to complicated for me. Not only changing the wheel size but also the chain pitch. But thanks to MKolks I have had a look on the www.gearingcomander site.not so complicated after all!
