Saved 1975 Z1.... Well most of it.

Soooo I am picking up a 1974 or '75 Z1 that I saved from the mulcher but the damn scrap yard will NOT let me have the frame.
I have to decide if it is worth finding another bare Z1 frame or if I should part out what's left. Everything is there except the side covers and seat.

I know the engine and frame numbers never matched but aren't they supposed to be within a few hundred of each other or something? How far off can I get away with without some purist complaining that they don't match? I'm going to get the same year frame but...

More details! ???. Who has the title? Any title at all? The scraper? He probally knows the Z1 frame with a title can bring good money $500 bucks if it's clean and straight with nothing cut off of it. He don't care about the $12-$15 dollars in scrap I hope?
Or he's just gonna sell the title. Most scrap yards want to see the title before they scrap stuff, for legal reasons.
Something is fishy here? There are 3 sides to this story, yours, scrapper's and the truth!

If you got the other parts, then sell them all on ebay. Z1 parts are the only thing selling nowadays, or the cult gang drinking and buying "oinkjohnson's" koolaid. with his team of shill bidders "JMO" Sells all his drag bike parts? I don't get it. I have bought too! Only stuff for $9.99.

Whatever?

I just got everything he would let me take. I'm pissed off that he shredded the frame when I walked off to get my truck.

I have a complete 1975 Z1 minus side covers, seat, and gauges. If the bottom end of the engine is still good, I will find a frame and build another bike. I've been wanting a real Z1 for a while so I am hoping this will stay as a build thread and not die off!

Z1F-62260 is no longer with us :(

Then I pulled the cylinder head and found what I was expecting since some idiot pulled the plugs out and let it sit. :(
