Kawaski GT550 G7 -91 Caféracer build!
14 May 2013 11:15 - 14 May 2013 11:28
Hi! One year ago i bought this Kawasaki GT550 G7 -91 European Model ( I'm from Sweden). It was in very bad shape since it had been kept standing outside for 7 years. I bought it very spontaneously without any clue on what to do with it.
Now one year later i barely recognize the bike. Unfortunately i didn't take any pictures of the bike when i got it.
What i've done.
* Chopped and welded the frame to fit seat.
* Painted frame, tank, wheels, engine etc.
* Remove unnecessary electric, and airbox for cleaner look.
* Clip-ons
* Rear-set
* New headlight
* Kellerman micro 1000 DF Dark ( not mounted yet)
* Changed all frame bearings
* Shimmed the engine valves.
* New shock absorbers.
Thats all I can remember right now, the pictures will tell more.
Frame after disassembly of all the parts.
Original look of the fuel tank.
Tested how it would look if i modified the original seat cover.
Re Welded frame in the middle, to straight pipes instead of bent.
Sanded down the frame.
And the fuel tank.
Sandblasted and painted the engine.
Trying out a cut.
