Fired up first time every time with the starter clutch rebuild. So happy/relieved that's out if the way. Switched to pods and pulled the air box, bike ran great with no jetting though it doesn't pull in the high end.

How does everyone feel about drilling out the vacuum slides? I'm skeptical.

Added my seat foam which still needs to be trimmed down a bit.
Made my taillight bracket and took it for a spin. Moderate comfort, still feel the big bumps pretty good but it looks killer. 8)

Ordered Uni Pods to replace these cheap EMGO's which hopefully makes a difference like everyone says they will. Also decided to paint the tank but I'll leave that as a surprise.

Ok so it looks like i neglected this post for a while but here's what i've been up too. I couldn't stand the rust and faded frame paint. The engine was clean but tarnished.

Refinished the wheels

Redid the header/exhaust, painted the swing arm

Rebuilt the forks, Progressive brand fork springs and paint.

Painted the engine and triple tree.

Reassembly begins. New Progressive rear shocks mounted and battery tray cleaned up big time. Don't mind that rusty screw, it's gone now.

Here's how it sat after the winter, seat was temporary but it looked great,

With seat done

With new muffler

Complete list of modifications.

Superbike Bars / Oury Grips
Rebuilt forks with new Progressive fork springs, lowered internally 2-3"
Progressive Rear Shocks
Front Master Cylinder from a 96 ZX7

Shinko 712 Front and Rear tire
RK 530 Chain, New Front and Rear Sprocket
Dyna Solid Core Spark Plug Wires/ New plugs
Dynojet Stage 3 Jet Kit
Detab/Smooth the frame, rear hoop, fresh paint on everything.
Cleaned or Replaced Front wheel bearing
Smaller blinkers from Dime City Cycles
Modified MAC 4-1 Exhaust

Got the timing advancer moving again. From years of neglect and no gasket on that side cover it had seized. It should finally feel like a 750 now.

Jr, I'm new hear but have to say you have done a great job on your bike! Thanks for sharing :) What did you use for the paint for the engine and exhaust? Mine is looking at getting some paint here in next couple weeks, but I don't know what will last on the road well, so looking for advice and options.

Regards,

Will

Hi Will. Thanks for the kind words. I used vht high temp but i've heard rustoleom grill paint works better especially if you cure it with a heat gun. Id probably try that next.

So I've still been trying to perfect this thing. Refurbished the tank badges was one step, to put on the freshly painted tank!

This thing is awesome! I love the most recent incarnation.. the white tank really sets it off and gotta love a meaty rear tire..
