Frankenstein's Monster lives...

3 years ago, I looked at the heap of Z1/KZ900/KZ1000 parts that serves as spare parts for the Z1 Superbike and thought 'I have enough extra spares to build a KZ900 Street Rod'. (did that come from the Dept of Redundancy Dept?)
I have very slowly and steadily worked on it since.
Using whatever was inappropriate for the racebike, but still good stuff, I built a version of 'Johnny Cash's Cadillac"...
itsa '73/74/75/76/77/78/79/80 1135cc, cammed up, ported, smoothbore carbureted, titanium Yosh exhausted, electronic ignitioned, dual disc braked, wide-rear rimmed, Street Rod.
It was completed this week, everything works...runs and rides great!
Not too bad for a mongrel of leftovers:

It literally came from bits and pieces...each trans gear & shim, piston pin & clip, swing arm axle, cable, bolts from buckets, etc, etc...
no assembled components were abused in the creation of this monster.
That's why it took 3 years of dinking and dunking

Nice Johnny Cash bike Arthur. I recieved the poster yesterday and wanted to tell you thank you very much. I really enjoyed talking to you at the track about these old bikes I guess that is the bike you were telling me about during the race last weekend Very nice bike from a pile of parts That Yoshi pipe is sweet and compliments the bike. I wish I had spare parts to build a complete bike :) Once again thank you.
