I know the feeling.. Sometimes I wonder. As selfish as it sounds but if I was single I would have built the bike sooner...lol.

Along the same lines- if I wasn't so damn busy with finishing my degree up, it would have been done by now.

I hooked up the front brake last night- driving the Buell caliper (uses a 1/2 inch master cylinder) with my KZ master cylinder (5/8 inch master cylinder).

It's PRETTY touchy, doesn't take much to get the caliper to grab hard. Does anyone see an issue with running the brake like this? I realize it's going to be pretty touchy with driving the 6-pot caliper with a master cylinder that's an eighth of an inch larger.

Other things equal, a smaller bore master cylinder will be more touchy than a larger bore master cylinder.

Good Fortune! :)

So having a larger bore master to power a caliper that usually runs an eighth smaller won't hurt?

Other things equal, a larger bore master cylinder will have a more "wooden" feeling than a smaller bore master cylinder.

Kawasaki provided a 14mm m/c with the single front disc models.

Kawasaki increased the m/c bore size to 5/8" for the dual front disc models.

Good Fortune! :)

Thanks, Patton! I'll get a pressure brake switch hooked up soon then :)

Al- we did get some work done last night, but nothing really picture-worthy. There wasn't any proper size tubing in the shop, so we had to spin down a section of 1.5" solid bar to make a custom shock mount tube for the lower link. Got that all spun down, re-made the lower mount arms, and have it set for welding. My buddy might have a slower week coming up, so he may be able to weld it up then.

The swingarm has been mounted for quite some time, just working on getting the shock mount out of the way.

My new bar grips came in, and my Acewell speedo/tach combo is in too! :)

As for my degree, I've got my undergrad in Kinesiology (sports medicine). I can go into physiotherapy, chiropractic, occupational therapy... All things like that. And the one I'm working on right now is my Master's degree in Kinesiology. It just puts me ahead on the pay scale, and gives me more freedom with work when I start.

I head up to work tomorrow, back in town next Wednesday. I'm aiming to get work done over the weekend that I'm home- if I can get a solid day in, the suspension will for SURE be done, and should be able to get the sprocket alignment going. Fingers crossed I can get lots done soon. I'm also aiming to get my Dyna ignition wired in when I'm off, and also to get my Acewell wired in.

Kudos for getting any work done on the bike, while working, and getting your masters. Now, I need pics of the grips and the Acewell on the bike, pronto :woohoo:

Thanks, Al. Means a lot. It's a busy life, but I'd rather have something to do all the time than have nothing to do alot of the time.

As for the grips and Acewell, as soon as I'm back, I'll get on it chief ;)

As promised, some Acewell speedo/tach pics. If I have time to get it installed before I head back to work, more pictures will follow. Also hoping to get some suspension work done this week.

Overall, it's a pretty compact little unit. Has speedo, tach, and all sensor lights. Even has a fuel level gauge on it.
