so, a while back i bought a retired police bike to work on, well...i just started to get around to actually working on it because of work issue's. now i i cant help but wonder to my self.... what the heck did i just get my self into :x after about 6 hours of taking the bike apart, i have snapped 3 bolts, found that i am missing the radio box mounting bracket, the seat pivot mount, the wiring harness was ducked taped to the frame, the previous owner "spliced" the wiring for the headlight onto the harness...and by that i mean he cut open the insulation.. and just wrapped the wires together and used electrical tape over it.
this is going to be my log of what i have done/ will do, feel free comment and give opinion. advice welcome
When i got it
the awesome wiring the previous owner did
dear god these carbs where a bitch to get out !

well i wasnt able to get out to the bike this weekend due to work and my fiance making me clean.....
BUT i did look at the parts of stuff i pulled off and decided what will be staying and going
Assuming these parts are good i will hopefully reuse them, but my harness was dry rotted so iam not sure how well the heat sink, fuses and relays stuff will work, i have never delt with anything electrical before and this is my first bike project
i intend to have a very minimal looking dashboard so all these can go!
not sure if my ignition coils are any good, both of them are cracked in a few places
i intend to sell the front and rear fender's, and saddle bags so far, might sell the heal to teo shifters/brake and go to peg haven't decided yet
