1974 900 z1 A south Atlanta was created by Charles Nix
Picked up a early 900 cheap, less than $200 ,it was rode hard and put up wet .It was also knocked over ,under a car port. All the electrics work ,has an old school air brush job, shock lowering brackets, bent drag bars, velosity stacks,Dyna 3 and flat tires. It spins by start button, has numerous dings, bent left rear shock ,some cracked fins ,and a busted carb mounting bracket. The bike was sold to a man in 1995 and it was rode for 5 years.I need some frame measurements or a good frame jig.

Nice project. What are your plans for it? I have a database with frame and engine numbers if you want to know if the engine is original to the bike. Here's my current project as I bought it ($350), mainly cosmetic stuff, luckily no broken fins and I got it running after a carb rebuild. Right now the frame has been refinished and the engine is just about ready to be installed.

There's lots of info on that site.

I will rebuild, I am worried the frame may be bent ,It was bounced around hard .It has damage on both sides. The last owner was a drinker. Under the fuel tank on the right rear frame tube, there is a hard frame hit. I hope to crank it, check it over then dissasemble, and check frame aglinement . Some more pics look close.

Got the bikes striped down today .Found a crack in the stator cover of the 74 900 ,also found stripped threads where the clutch cable enters side cover. Rubbed the frame down with marvel mystery, and sanded and painted rear wheel. Hope the pictures work.

 Wow! I've never seen a set of carbs broke like that before.... or a rear shock! Man that's going to take a wackload of time & $ to get back on the road. I admire your courage.

Cheers, Doug
