Smoked CBR600 Tail for me....



Although I have been thinking about a Z1 round tail tucked in.....

3 to 4 drops of black into your clear

You can also paint them with Dupli-color Metalcast red paint. It will make them translucent red like a factory taillight.

I did it with my aftermarket light on my Duc.



Just need to clear it with a UV protective clear so it doesn't fade.

wash it with soaap and water
sand with 1500
spray with adhesion promotor
put 3 drops black in mixed clear
light coat on if it darkens at all your good
mwedium coat then wet coat until desired darkness


entire secret to profedsssional looking long lasting non peeling results the tail light on the truc was done 2 years ago and looks black too dark for my taste but it works

Actually, no paint required. RIT black fabric dye and a pot of boiling water. It is available at most fabric stores and Walmart. If going to another brand, select one for synthetic fabrics for best color and penetration. Bring the whole works to a boil and dip the lens for a while. Pull it out, rinse off. Check the tint level. If you want it darker, just repeat until the level you reached is acceptable. Nice thing about dying the plastic is no scratches will show as the plastic itself has taken the color. You can even do different colors if you wish, but then would suggest a clear lens to start with. Been doing it for 20 years that way. In my bike build thread you can see some turn signal examples.
