cool little father son type project.... was created by lushbaugh
counter sprocket belt buckle....

first you will need a few things like

> obviously a worn sprocket
> a couple small nuts , i used eight millimeters.
> wire for belt loop, i used an old door lock linkage.
> an eight millimeter head long bolt, i used a long one so
i could use the thread-less portion.

tools:
> mig welder
> 90 degree grinder
> cookie wheels, 36 grit and scotch brite wheel.
> vise grips
> cut off wheel

note: you can use whatever you have as theres many ways to accomplish the same thing.

step two clean up small nuts for a clean weld. use vise grips to hold it as the cookie wheel will rip it out of your hands and dont over kill the visegrips it will crush the nuts.

then mount the nuts in place using clamps, you can see i used a scratch awl to position them you can use what youd like or eyeball it.

step four weld the nuts in place. a tack weld will do but that aint my style...

step six you are going to shorten the long bolt for the belt catch and clamp it in place for welding...

next your gonna bend the belt catch so it stays in place, clamp it down, i used a vice with
a rag to protect the finish then i vice gripped the end, applied a lil heat and bent. after bending i shortened the prong a bit and removed any sharp edges.

install into nuts and crimp prongs in, you will see i bent up the ends like a cotter pin to strengthen the loop and then you should look like this...

now i loved the raw metal look so i decided to clear coat it to protect it.... also i may epoxy some empyt shell casings in the lightening holes later. enjoy and wear safty gear so the kids learn correctly
