Yep, Adam is right. The plating shops that do anodizing will also be able to strip it. I used to have that done all the time when my parts didn't come back right from anodizing.

Thanks for the info on the forks from those that replied.

Makes a lot of sense to me and I didn't think they looked odd was just curious.

Sounds cheaper to paint around that color and make the bike match it haha

When you mounted the speed sensor for your Koso unit did you mount on the frot wheel or back wheel. If front, got any pictures of the mounting?

Alan,

I originally used the back wheel, placing the magnets on the sprocket and using one of the chain guard holes to mount the sensor bracket. I'm moving it to the front since doing the swingarm, just haven't had a chance to finish it yet. The cable isn't quite long enough to reach now, and I think it will be a bit easier to hide in the front.

I'll be sure to post some pics when I get working on that (soon I hope). In the meantime I'm getting pretty good gauging speed based on rpms... B)

Thanks Bob, the rear mounting looks easy, but the cable seems a bit short for my setup. I've seen the sensor mounted off the front fender mount, but I don't like the idea of pinching the fender. Maybe a thin bracket that picks up both fender mounts so the sensor bracket isn't attached with the fender. If that makes sense? How do you like your Koso?

I like the Koso. I fumbled with the tach setup a bit but their tech support was prompt with replies and I think that's ironed out. Other than that minor issue it's been great. The only thing I can really complain about is the clock only working in 24hr mode vs 12 - and I'm really nitpicking there.

I was thinking about using a longer bolt with one of the fender mounts, that ran long through the fork mount and would allow me to use a nut on the back side to hold the mount and essentially be invisible. I've only held things in place and eye-balled that but it looks like it would work.

Bob- how much did you shave off your cush drive? I'm having a little clearance issue on my 650 build. We've shaved 1/8th off so far, I'm thinking I can maybe take another 1/16-1/8th off.
Thanks

Looking back at my notes I wrote .125. That chewed through the raised parts and got into the face enough to ensure it was flush, and it ended up being all I needed.

Sounds good. I'm at .125 right now, thinking I may have to take a little more off. Thanks, Bob.

I think I got away with only .125" due to the 520 chain.
