What to call it and what color(s)?

Hello all - I'm new to the forum and am in the process of "renovating" the old KZ that I clocked 58K+ miles dating my wife on when armor was a leather members only jacket (yeah, they made leather ones too.) Anyway, after inspecting the frame after stripping it down I remembered that I was told to park it after two pretty lucky events (lucky that I walked away with broken ribs and a concussion).

I'm in the pre-assemble stage now and here's the trick. It's a Denis Curtis frame that I convinced him to build for me to hold the KZ650D engine in (700 wiseco and 750 cams) so it is a chomemolly tube with a hand built tank. It's really a Kawasaki H2R frame to hold my engine. I'm really getting worked up on colors. I have a 2010 ZX10R and my wife thinks I have too much green but I want it to have some of it's heritage. The frame is built to handle a 750 two stroke with over 100hp so I'm not concerned. I also have the F1 (Vintage Heron Yamaha fairings) but am really wanting to run a naked bike. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I do have one question that I'd love to get a straight forward answer to. Where the Stator is with the permanent magnet flywheel (left side cover). I want to do like the NOS bike and have a belt drive gpz alternator on it. Has anybody done this? Thanks for any responses! James

That thing is too nice for paint,it should be clear coated and put in a glass box in your living room,same thing for the motor! wow

Very nice.

First color to pop into my head is a graphite/pewter/bronze shade on a dark red frame. With a frame like that you should draw attention to it with color.

i am thinkin white and black broken up with a little green,
polished tank,with some black kawasaki decals.

bare with me this is gonna sound pretty far out there

Looking at the lines i thought eiffel tower with that said
painting the frame and body to match with lines that mimic the eiffel tower
girders with rivits maybe some orange and yellow behind it all
I know I cant explain the vision I have very well

but thinking paint the base sunset colors then taping off
girder lines spraying it with variations of silver gray over reduced black
air brush then airbrush rivets under a 1000 coats of clear

or you could paint it green

The one in my head is badaxx unfortubately the stuff that lives there scares me lol

I'm drooling over that nice new set of flat slide carbs. Who makes those, how big are they and what do they cost?

That's one pretty engine. Can't help you on the belt drive question, but I'd say you've got a great start to your project there.
Now I just have to make sure people don't confuse us for our oddly similar names.

:ohmy: I was really considering the polished tank but now I think I'm sold. That bike is eye candy! Very Nice, now I would feel like I'm just copying though so may have to go with the Kawasaki Red, Black, White scheme.
