ok, so I'm new to the idea of doing custom bikes that are metric, Harleys i know what i like
but this bike was the dad's bike we were threaten with our lives to touch it as kids.

Mine now! pop's!

so here is the story

I like to ride allot in comparison to him, i want something street able that can also be taken on a trip once in a while so saddle bags might not be completely out but they will most likely be throw overs.

i also would like room for a passenger if i ever find a woman but i do have kids also.

i do like low and fast the drag bike styles.
not in to the caff stuff to much look good just don't like their ride (have rode a couple)

i know for fact the faring is coming off so i have to do the front end wiring to get that retched thing out of the way.

would like to lower it
go to a 4 in to 1 header.

but don't know what else to do for seat, bars might go to straight bars but haven't decided completely yet.

so i guess past this I'm looking for ideas or pictures of different custom bikes . so any ideas or links for parts are going to be real helpful at this point.

photos were taken last winter. i do have the side covers but would really like to figure out something for the air box but because i do get in to rain once in a while i need to keep something like it but it is UGLY!! , thought about the pods but not sure i like the issues with them had them before and never did run the way that bike should have (gl1000)

so feel free to yell out anything at this point

The difference between a "biker" and a real Biker, saying you own a bike, and actually owning a bike, Not a "T" shirt

Hey, welcome!

Sounds like you are going for a bobber/bagger type of bike?
Or are you going for more of a UJB that you can configure easily from a sporty style to a touring style and back to suit your needs?
The 1000 is great for that. Please post up what year and model you have.
You can get a feel for that info by going to Kawasaki.com

I kind of know what your after but mine doesnt have bags. It is loe and stretched and has a 4 into 1 pipe that will clear in corners(be cautious here). I think a 650 would look great set up like this. Mine has raked trees which work but at a loss of trail. (caution here again) 6 degrees is max.

Am addicted to Z1's and kz 900's have an el camino, fly rc helicoptors and am strung out on horsepower.

YUP!! thats is what im looking for.
I can live with throw over bags, normally all i would put on any bike, not a fan of the hard bags on it all the time.
and since my harley had more rake i feel unstable on this thing as it is lol

also where are yall finding the tail sections on your bikes? and what are they off of
the 750 , has a huge square tail light in it and really would like to remove it for a more favorable tail section .
I like what you have here.

thanks for the help
