I have lurked here for around jeez, I guess 4 years on and off and have been helped by the knowledgeable ones, many thanks! I started with a '77 KZ650 B (first bike) and rode, wrenched and sold it to a buddy, great bike. Bought a '77 KZ1000 A model, great bike for different reasons, loved the power. Sold it. However the 650 was the best weight around town, plenty of fun. Easy in parking lots, etc.
Well 2 kids later and the itch has never left and I miss riding the vintage steel. Now on with it... Well I had a parts bike '77 650D it's been sitting in a basement, mostly intact, now I just acquired a '78 650 D and its on! Just excited to tinker, gonna get space set up over the next week so the mad scientist can start to work. Anyway here is the new to me '78 and the second photo is something I'm interested in trying to do. Looks freaking cool, clean and mean to me and I really wanted this bike the moment I saw it!!!!
