Thanks MH! You, personally, were a big help in me getting to this stage, remember the starter motor problem i was having months ago at the beginning?, that was before i stripped the bike down! Seems a long time ago now!! I appreciate all the help, thank you.

I'll change my avatar pic to my bike but i want to change a few things 1st.........the bars look too high so i would like to replace them with clip-ons, i might try a bigger light as well to see how that works, the clutch cable needs shortened & i need a clutch cover gasket & generator cover gasket as i have a couple of minor leaks. Oh yeah, i need to replace the oil sight glass window too as even though i cleaned it i can see nothing, i dunno why cos it looks reasonably clean, the oil doesn't seem to be getting through the 'holes' in the metal late behind! I put 4L of oil in with a new filter so i know the level should be ok but i don't like guess work when it comes to that kinda thing

Those gaskets aren't made now, where can i buy pattern ones? Any idea's

You can be fooled sometimes by the clean oil, you might be looking right through to the back side of the sight window. Try looking in there and leaning the bike over slightly, and see if you can spot the oil. I know for me after a change, I have to look pretty close at it, Old Eyes you know. :P
those gaskets can be cut from a roll of gasket material, and a gasket hole punch set. Should be pretty easy, you might have trouble on the first, but it will soon be easy to make them.

Oh yes I do, that was a strange sound it made, but seems an easy fix once the little stake pin was secured in place.

Ah but it popped out again so i used bearing seal for that larger outer gear & its holding up very well, seriously strong stuff!!

I like it. I normally don't care for cafe style tails but your design looks good.

My on concern is that sharp lip at the back of the tank. That's going to hurt during hard stops if you don't brace yourself. Luckily you wont have a passenger to slam you into it!

Go green, buy a Kawasaki!

Then the tank, done in the multitasking garage......note the couple of little holes where the badges go that needed welded up.

& a friend done the lacquering, £20 well spent as he does car bodywork. I painted the tank has a run, stripped it back & done it again, then the lacquer ran.........painted it AGAIN & no way was i doing the lacquer!!
