Make sure your jets are clean, you said there was sludge in there. Spray carb cleaner in ALL the little passages and blow out with compressed air.

i followed that little diagram about cleaning carbs with carb cleaner. I didnt have time to work on the bike today but my buddy eddie that works at the tire shop next door to our shop used to be a motorcycle mechanic. he said he would look at it while i was gone. Will keep you update on what happens.
@p21: the bike is an 82 csr 650.
@beezy: When i used either the bike started as long as we were spraying then would die. Cant keep idle. Every now and then one of the carbs would pop. The bike just keeps cranking but wont start. umm... Probably an issue getting fuel into the combustion chamber. After i replaced the plugs, couldnt really smell any gas on them but yea, will keep you all updated. Thanks a lot for your input.
Oh and about the pods, Lucky for me i only need 2 new airbox hoses. the other 2 are really soft and pliable surprisingly. hope to get those asap.

The intake stroke is supposed to suck fuel mixture from the carb.
The intake suction might be reduced by pulling instead through an improperly sealing exhaust valve.
Would assure valve clearances are within specs.

I am checking out my carbs one last time. I have the carbs soaking right now. and i checked compression in all of my cylinders but yea, my next move was to check my valve clearances. >.< was hoping i wouldnt have to do that just to get the bike started. Anyhow, will keep you all updated. As always thank you all SOOO much for your help. I really appreciate your support during this time of AMAZING stress. Love it but drives me crazy. xD

So i checked again, and my pilot jets sucked up crap. They were all blocked. Unblocked them, going to give the carb ANOTHER cleaning tomorrow and see what happens. Wish me luck guys.

If not already done, would install an aftermarket in-line filter in the fuel line. Where there are two fuel lines, install a separate filter in each line.
Would never allow any fuel into the carbs that hasn't first flowed through a good in-line fuel filter.
The stock screen filters on the petcock are woefully inadequate in today's world.
Back when the bike was new, and with a pristine fuel tank interior, and better gasoline was available, the stock fuel screening was then marginally acceptable. Not so, in today's world.

+1 on the filter, and I would kinda plan on having to buy a regulator/rectifier. You may not have to, but I wouldn't venture too far on the first ride.

BIKE STARTS AND IDLES!!! now on to the next problem.
While the bike was idling, i accidently flipped the light switch. Once i did that the revs shot up and the bike began to backfire. Right now the airfilter is not attached to the bike. I will try to post videos later. I took some while at work on my phone and will try to upload those asap. Thanks again for all your help.
