Haha good eye! They are VM28ss pumpers. Had to pay a bit more than I wanted for them, but they are great carbs that are getting hard to find. They should easily fuel my 810 kit in the future as well.

Took the carbs apart today, let them soak, and media blasted them. Ready for rebuild! Also dropped off the jugs to get honed, and ordered all the goodies to get the motor back together.

Already on the way haha. The ones in the carbs were absolutely trashed, took no effort at all to pull them out.

Well engine reassembly has begun, also got the frame back from the welder. It's all down hill from here!

Had to yank the studs out to get the gasket off around them. The gaskets were as hard as rock and I swear fused to the case. Thank god I learned of a 3M roloc bristle disk, cleaned it up in no time.


The only bad part is the dust and dirt in the crankcase, any ideas on how to flush this stuff out???

And a few goodies from Z1 to reassemble.

well being as how you did not tape the holes off before you went to town with the bristle disk ,
prolly spray it out with some diesel in a squirt bottle and let it all run out the pan(with the pan off)then some carb clean/brake clean that will cut the diesel then re-oil it before assembly.

or,

pour atf all over it and let it run out wash with gas and then re-oil.

you get the idea wash out re-oil.

Case was already full of stuff from disassembly. Will probably use diesel, as it has some lubricity in case some gets left behind. Thanks for the advice, will be getting ahold of you in a couple days to get that sprocket made!

Botteming taps work good for chasing the blind bolt holes after you clean the crud out of the holes.
