Restoring my dad's ride.
15 Apr 2012 01:02So, I'm restoring my 76 KZ900LTD. My old man was the original owner, and I got my hands on in in 96 when he passed. I had a frame up restoration done in 04, but while it was in the shop I hade to go overseas. When I came back, my brother had picked it up, and didn't notice the crook took all of my chrome and gave me someone else's crap. Then I had to go overseas again, and when I came back this time, my brother left it outside the whole damn time. So now I need to restore it again. I'm looking to go custom this time though. Anyone know where I can find some nice custom accessories and some chrome engine covers and other parts?

Thanks, I looked at all of those, found a few things I need too. I'd be happy to check out any other sites you can think of too.

If you want to restore it, & are willing to do the work to go custom, buy yourself a polisher, & polish the cases & other aluminum bits you want shiny.
you will retain the quality of the original parts, and get the shiny / custom look you want.
even parts like the petcock will shine up nice.
beyond that, what kind of custom look do you want ?
got any pics of bikes that have the look you want?

next time you go overseas get a gaurd dog and lock it up in storage. oh yeah make sure you send the crook a nice letter detailing how you will let everyone know of his wonderful work and his thoughtfullness of removing all the nice parts for safe keeping but you would like them back now

I went back to that douchebag and he denied everything, and said good luck proving anything to the cops. So I punched him in the mouth and left.
