78° in South Georgia today. Great day for a ride. Just did 70 miles. Finally a relaxing yet invigorating spin on the scooter.
It's running very well. While just cruising along, the open pipes get pretty quiet. Gearing is about where I want it, 55mph at 4000 rpm in 5th gear.
The only issue I have now is the tranny jumping a little in 2nd and 3rd. When I upshift, if I take the time after letting the clutch out to 'decel' just a tiny bit before accelerating, it doesn't jump at all. If I just upshift and accelerate at the instant the clutch engages, it will jump 3 or 4 times. I'm pretty sure this is a worn dog syndrome as the clutch doesn't slip at all under the heaviest load. Right now I am planning a teardown for new gears and a base gasket that is weeping. Any thoughts?

I would check the shifter mechanicnaizm behind the trans door. Maybe a worn spring or something?

Any idea where I might see a diagram of that mechanism? It seems like there is a weak spring or something.

Thanks, Powerstroke Fan.
I pulled the cover off the gear shifting mechanism tonight.
I don't see anything out of whack in here. Springs are intact and seem strong.
I suppose my jumping issue is further inside...

Thanks for the pictures of SGMP and the shifter Fivestring. I have had some very good times at SGMP. That is a class track indeed.
