New member, question about frames
19 Mar 2012 23:31
Hi guys!, just found this forum,
i have a 2005 zrx that im almost finished modding and im
looking for a new project.
Here is my question;
are the frame from a kz100ltd the same as the z1r?
im looking to build a z1r but since its almost impossible to find these days,
and since there are few kz1000ltd for sale, i was wondering id the frame are the same so i can
switch the body parts and make a z1r outta ltd.
Thank you so much in advance, and here i add a pic of my zrx.
Hope you like it

Welcome and good looking bike.
As for the kz and z1r frames there are differences but the kz can be done up with Z1R body parts. The Z1R has been stiffened up in the front more than the kz but everything mounts up except for the 1 sidecover, seat and tail which isn't that difficult to fix. It will take some fabrication and welding on the chassis but it can be done. I went with a KZ frame on mine to keep from butchering a Z1R frame.
