81 KZ550, from really bad ELR to street tracker?

Bought this bike last summer, the previous owner turned it into a "mini" Eddie Lawson clone... complete with a tank decal that said something like "1/2 Scale ELR" and KZ1100R decals on the side covers. It had fairly low mileage and ran pretty well though, came with ebay pod filters, a mac 4 into 1 exhaust, and a dyno stage 3 jet kit installed.

Here's the bike after riding it home,





It looks decent in the picture, but the paint was pretty bad and the decals and stripes were peeling off so I rattle canned it flat black and rode it all summer like this, the only other change was I cut the seat foam down a bit and did some basic maintenance.







Then I got bored this winter and decided to change things up a bit, so in between moving to a new house and having a baby I...
- gave the tank a very wrenchmonkees inspired paint scheme
- fit a dirt track style seat from airtech streamlining
- removed and relocated electronics and wiring
- new grips and mirrors
- led brake light

My wife is finishing up a faux leather tuck n roll style seat pad that will go on shortly.

Things that are still on the list and planned for this summer,
- polishing spare coil cover, clutch cover, foot peg mounts, engine cover right side, generator cover
- paint wheels gold to match tank pinstripe
- replace master cylinder
- shorter clutch cable
- upgrade rear suspension

Then over the winter I'd like to,
- rebuild motor
- source and install dual caliper front brake or upgrade to a modern front end (suggestions?)
- upgrade to disc rear brake, from a gpz550?
- grind off remaining unnecessary tabs on frame and powdercoat, possibly gold?

The bike so far has been reliable and super fun, just wanted to share and I'm sure I'll have tons of questions and the build progresses on.

Too bad you re-painted it. You could have made one minor paint change to have a unique bike:
