KZ 750 - based on what bike?

Hi everyone,

I am a new member and I am looking at an 81 KZ 750, wanted to know if it was based on the 650 (but bigger) or on the kZ 900/1000 (but smaller). I have a neighbor selling a very low miles 750 that I may not be able to pass up. It is a chain drive 4 cylinder model, alloy wheels twin discs, $600.

Also any general info on this bike would be appreciated (ie. stay away from it or it's a good one), most of what I know is about the KZ 1000, never looked at the 750.

The 1981 4 cylinder KZ750 is based on the KZ650 and shares many components. It is an excellent bike! Ed

They tell me that the 650s and 750s have plenty of power. Check for specific web sites.

I shall post pics when I get it this coming Thursday, providing the owner doesn't recant on his promise. Also I plan to do some mods to it, ie. have some fun.

Did not work out, bike was seized up and many other problems...no good. Ah well, I will keep on looking
