hello i am new and i have a project on my hands. ok its a 78 kz1000 i wanted to go with a different look i wanted a wider back tire and nice chrome rims. so i found a 89 gsxr swingarm but it wont mount up its hitting my back brake i no i have to cut now in order for it to fit. i will try to put up some pic and the boalt that goes through the swingarm is to big to go through the frame im stuck i need help bad !!! :blush:

never fear the kz gange is here.
as for the swing arm bolt being toooo big. thats common. just use the stock kz bolt have have a sleeve made to fit over it.

Grab the inner bearing races for a '86-88 Gsxr750 or a '87-88 Gsxr1100. They should be the same OD as the '89 races but the right ID for your Kz pivot bolt. Also the brake pedal bracket is pretty beefy. You should be able to trim it down and still have sufficient strength. (That's what I did to get the '86 Gsxr1100 arm to fit my '78 1000.)
