...it shouldn't take much at all to get it running. Those 2 strokes are the simplest of engines to work on. Pull the carbs, blast them with a can of carb cleaned, inside and out. Hit ever hole and passage with the cleaner. Make sure the floats swing free and the needles open and close with the drop of the floats. Dump the old gas and old 2 stroke oil for new. Drop in a fresh set of plugs, open the throttle all the way, squirt a little bit of carb cleaner through each carb, close the throttle, turn on the key, hold down the enriching button and kick it through. Don't be surprised if it starts on the first, or second kick. The carb cleaner will act as starting fluid.

...mind you, that's just to get it running. The carbs will need to be set up. You should probably pull the exhaust baffles and clean the crud off of them. Make sure to unplug any little holes in the baffles. You don't want to cut down your exhaust flow.

...once you get that baby rollin', take her out on a nice straight street with no traffic, or people around. Pull in the clutch, drop 'er in first, crack that throttle 'til she's singin' at 4 grand, drop that clutch and hold on for dear life. That back wheel will start spinnin' and smokin'. Just get ready for when she hooks up and starts pointin' that front wheel towards the stars! Run through the gears and thank your Dad for hangin' on to such a classic.

...I can smell that rubber and 2 stroke oil already. ;)
