My newly aquired 85 Gpz 750
05 Dec 2011 18:46
picked up this beauty last week. I stole it for the bargain price of $875 .. Runs perfect. new carb rebuild. new tires. freshly painted tank. 15k original miles. bike is a solid beauty.
took some HQ sunset shots this weekend. thought i'd share. glad to be party of the Kawi family
after i got the bike i took everything apart for a good cleaning. discovered that i absolutely love the lines of this bike without that ginormous front fairing . so i've placed an order for some headlight brackets. bar end mirrors and new turn signals. Will also be removing the rear fender and making up a eliminator system. the traditionalists probably won't like that but i loved the way it looked. it drove and felt much lighter in the front also with all that metal bracketing removed. i don't plan on cutting or damaging the plastics in the process, from what i've seen original plastics in good shape have a pretty nice pricetag .
here is a crappy cell phone pic i took during the bath session. kinda gives you an idea of where i wanna go with it
Thanks for looking

Cool! Saw your bike over on DTT too!
Ya, if you manage to preserve the pieces in order to maintain the potential to "put it back", I don't see any problem! It's too nice to butcher!
Have fun!
