took a gsxr 600 07 rear swingarm assembly and turned the oroginal swingarm bolt bushing down to fit into 07 swingarm brg and made 2 shouldered washers to fit brgs on 07 gsxr swingarm.Used 07 shock and linkage ,then made upper mount. All origonal shock mounts were cut away and made my own.I also added foot pegs from 01 fzr r1..the taillight is from a 01-05 fzr 1000.As for the chassis i reinforced with a x member above swingarm, and triangled the area behind neck.
Front forks are off a 00 gsxr 750 I had to machine stem on lower triple tree to fit tapered brgs worked great,i machined threads on gsxr stem to allow nut to thread down farther.the only problem was having to move headlight bracket down 1 in and reweld to neck. this allowed clearance for clip ons. I made stops for the forks with 1/4-20 allen bolt counter bored. As for brakes i'm using 01 zx7 6-piston calipers because gpz is not a light bike.
I decided to work on my engine! My future plans include a 810 kit, cams, carbs, port work, but for this year coming in 2012 i'll enjoy the stock motor. I put a 6 speed trans in from 84 gpz550 using all parts from the 550,and all the info from kz forum. it went in pretty slick the only update is you dont have to use 550 trans cover to keep neutral safety switch. just relocate the taller pin on shift drum which is under neutral safety plate to the 750 safety switch location on trans cover for gpz750.with a gasket seal kit from dennis kirk I'll be putting motor back together soon. Well bottem end of motor back together waiting on boring for piston kit back. Did manage to get frt wheel back and can't say enough about framestraight..com. That frt wheel is so straight.!! Doing body work hope to be painted in a 3 weeks.Bike painted starting to get the lil things taken care of found an oil cooler off a newer bike but bigger. D&G chassis made a sprocket for me ,which i highly recemend, nice people easy to deal with.. Well have to go back thru motorcycle and make sure lil things r done update later.
