KZ1000 modern fork swap

I have a '81 Kawasaki KZ1000 looking to do modern fork swap. I have a complete ZX7 front end of a 2002. The tripple trees do not work, is there another tripple I can use with these forks that will bolt on? Any recommendations on what swing arm set up will bolt on to this bike? Thanks.

i'm not sure why those tree's would not work? did u try swaping the stem with a kz stem? that is the normal procedure for most modern front end swaps.

Found the zx7 stem is to wide and short to work.My buddy has them and says he does not think the kz stem will press into the zx one.But he just eyeballin it i think. Also which rear swingarm is the easiest swap to do?

The ZX Trips will work, you just need to swap the stems and make a bushing (possibly out of the ZX stem). Looks in the projects sections, many people have dont just that.

Lots of options on the swing arm. Pick your poison. NONE are direct bolt ins and will require a bit of fab work. Want dual shock, or mono? Square Tube or something modern? Short list of things you could look at. ZX9(early), 636, GSXR 100, 750 and 600. GS1000E I believe as well.. and thats a very short list.

send it to me and i can mill the pivot tube down to the right width and build some bushings to take up the slack between the kz swingarm bolt and the zx bushing.

if that would help you out shoot me a pm.
