SOOOOooo.. did some work.
Massaged the kz mounts to mock up the upper front motor mount. Motor fits great up front. The bottom front mounts will need some fabricating. As for the rear lower i can make a bracket that bolts into the old mount and relocates to the fj case.
tank won't fit anymore...looks like i'm getting a new one
the header need to be tweaked a little bit to fit the way i want it to, but it will come in time.
I gain (from swapping):
*obvious raise in power
*hydraulic clutch
*mikuni diaphram carbs (throttle response)
*monster torque
*the motor only weighs 25lbs more (wet)
*a better "base" for engine modifications
*Easily windowed clutch cover
i am super stoked....AND THAT, is where i stop right now. More updates after i enter the winter build off @customfighters.com :shocker:

icing on the cake
it's off about 3-5mm
but the swingarm was offset to the right for the kz motor anyways.

i have a nicer fj1200 cylinder head with +2mm weisco sleeves. Should bump it up nicely.
making a braced swingarm utilizing these gpz eccentric adjusters, much like the zrx swingarm.

Damn, that would have been a pain in the ass to mig weld! :woohoo: I like the look of a clean conversion to a flush aircraft style filler. That will definitely be a one of a kind when its done.

The tig was being loaned out otherwise i would've done that.
I am used to stitch/ spot welding. I worked in a body shop for 2 years and we didn't have any fancy equipment.
i am pleased with the outcome. It flows well with the knee dents.
