i was explaining to the wife last night how this was not going to take away from any of the other"projects" :kiss: .
i was also trying to highlight the good points of the bike and felt like the part in z1 the movie where gabby takes her old 900 to the rebuilders to sell and they talk her into restoring it.

"oh we will rebuild the head,fit new bores,go through the transmission,completely rebuild the brakes and suspension,new wiring harness,paint,tires.oh this is not the kinda bike you sell,we will just fix a few things and it will be good as new.":evil:

the timing chain and gears are going to be one of the big ticket items.but also one of the areas that i won't skrimp on.first thing is to get the frame all braced up and off to the powdercoater.then it will be engine time.
in the mean time my painter buddy is trying to talk someone into painting a car kawi green so we can have some "left over"material :pinch: :silly: :whistle: .

last night i was telling the wife about the quail run lodge deal.i said we could pull a four day deal and drive straight out ride craigs bike around for a couple days and drive straight back.
then i said they also have a big bike race at willow springs.she goes we just have to plan it out.

so at least she is for it.it won't happen this year tho. next year could be a possiblity tho.:whistle:

if anyone has some used(as in cheap :whistle: )over bore pistons (1045/1075)street compression.
let me know.
i would like to punch out one of my blocks and buy some new rings and freshen the block up.if not i will punch a 900 out to match some used 1000 pistons and buy new rings for them.as long as the pistons have the right cylinder wall clearance and the rings have good end gap it will make compression and they will never know they are zombie pistons.:evil:
that is the nice thing about doing your own boring and honing,you can set the cylinders up however you want them .

quick story.....

customer i met is really nice older guy and is a big hitter for the race track here...i am working on getting a foot in the door as a maintenance/carpenter for the Track and he is seeing about hooking me up with that department for a meeting here in the near future...which could be a pretty nice gig while Amy finishes her R.N next year.....well he was leaving the hospital yesterday and taking his wife ,who is healing now , home....he stopped to say see ya and give me some contact info...and then reached in his pocket and slapped me with 4 three day passes to this
