 Interested in another fixer-upper?

Same deal, of course --- you get it perfect, and it's all yours, with me allowed to ride it whenever.

Look like early Z1 28mm carbs with bottom drain.

As known, 1978 Z1R (KZ1000-D1) was delivered with Mikuni 28mm manual-slide carbs with side-located pilot air adjustment screw, and idle adjusting screw located on the bottom in the middle between the drain hoses. And three-screw top caps.

Good Fortune! :)

So how do I get on the guest rider list?

I like your story about talking to the bike. You don't name 'em but you do sweet talk 'em when necessary, sounds devious to me. :P

i don't usually imbue mechanical objects with human qualities.

i do not, however doubt the power of the spoken word.so i do not mind having to talk to mechanical objects sometimes to make sure that my intentions are clear  .

josh,
once i get this thing back up in shape, anyone who comes to visit me(that can ride) will have the opportunity to ride it.

when we all raced quads we did not mind letting each other ride our bikes.
we just always said normal wear and tear is normal wear and tear.abuse and wrecks will be replaced with like parts.stock for stock and aftermarket for aftermarket.

anyone that already owns a kz is grandfathered in on the ride. :)

nice score!

As a fellow Z1R giftee I am always amazed by people. Most would kill for a salary raise but give away all their old, usually poorly running/ maintained toys and tools, worth hard currency. Go figure.

Now if only my neighbour would get sick of that '28 roadster in his shed.....
