Oh, I know the feeling about where the time goes. I opened the shop a couple days ago to do some welding for a guy from work, first thing I see is the bike. Getting the itch badly but going to be at least another 2-3 months before I even have time to even think about it. I do touch base here to see the new ideas floating in, guess I haven't seen Tachrevs shock conversion, going to have to check it out.

as long as you haven't started selling parts of it off,you are just in a lil bit of a "holding pattern" .

seems either time or money but they are hard to get in the right places at the right time sometimes.

Evening all. Still looking for carbs.
I came across some Mikuni rs40 flatslide(?) carbs in a z pattern. Too big? I reckon they would swamp a small motor. From memory i had 33mm CR's on the old Hot 1105. Engine now is a stock (?) 1015. Still keen on big turbo, but bargains is bargains...If i could get a 1200ish to run with these carbs that would be a good interim step,no?

That's awful big carb for a smallish motor. You would be much happier with something around 34's or smaller. Those 40's would be better fitting for a much bigger worked over motor. But as you say "bargains is bargains" so you might turn a buck to go towards what you need. ;)

Missing Carbies, keys for seat and tank and 1 x rear shocker when i got it. I've sourced a new fuel cap out of a busted zzr1100 to fit with keys and managed to open seat.

I was attempting to ask how big i should go if i wanted to fit the 40's? Would a 1200/ flowed head do it? or do i have to go larger...1428 / throat the block, etc, etc.
I wouldn't mind getting it rolling again. But if it won't work with just sleeves/pistons.... I'm aware of potential problems in max oversizes and i can do most of my own head work.
I have been out of zeds for over 10 years and nobody locally i know still is. Local 'strip closed years ago. All local efforts to find some 28/29's for stocker or a set of kiehins again have been fruitless. Ebay searching continues....

Alternative is keep it on the bench and build blown motor over next few years.
