The cool thing is that I am learning a lot as I go. Keep us updated on how things go this week before storage.

Good lord... those bars:D i test drove a 79' CB650 that he had cut the frame but he wanted to keep his stock shocks. There was no seat and he cut the mounting holes off for the shocks so he drilled new ones and used these skinny ass little tiny bolts to hold the shocks on. The frame was sharp as hell where he cut it too. I swear, if i woulda hit one bump on that thing in the road, them bolts woulda broke and i woulda got my balls ripped off when i got sucked into that back tire XD This just reminded me of that bike cus of the bars. This is totally inspiring though. shows just how long it takes to make something awesome.

by bars do you mean handle bars or the solid struts? either way they are rigged up good ;) I tig welded both, they should be fairly strong..

well the good news is that my start button is not bad as I thought, just a piched wire... but still no crank. turns out the starter relay is bad. well lets hook up a wall light switch for the time being:) just kidding

The name on this thread should be changed... Im a sellout on the Marine bobber theme but I think the change will be for the best. the paint will be flat black with a gloss black stripe down the spine of the tank, the sides are to be determined.. maybe a quick punisher skull in gloss black?(kinda cheesy for a grown man) it looks good so far but I used some crappy gloss black and it bubbled up and ran all over a perfect primer and flat paint job... oh well i missed a dent anyways- back to the blaster

That's OK! It's your bike, you can change it as many times as you want! I've always been a huge fan of flat black, so that works for me! :woohoo:

bikebldr86- sorry I really dont have much time to mess with my carbs for you, but im sure you can find it around these forums somewhere, good luck

toolboy- copy away brother, just try to plan it out before you start, unlike what I did so now im building around the box and craming and cutting wires everywhere, ill take a pic of the inside of the box next time I work on the bike..as for the struts, spend the money for a decent seat and they will be fine. Mine are solid 1.125 stainless round stock with the mounting eye holes tig welded on. Ive seen others use flat stock and so on, seems like that would sway left and right more but it seems to work for them.

Hey, This kz550 has TK-22 carbs that are not a CV (constant vaccumm) carburators, The TK's do not have vaccum diaphram slides in them. fyi..
