here is my ignition switch made from a chunk of pipe, the gut of the stock switch, and some stainless sheet metal. Still got to make a "key"to fit but a screw driver will work for now

Thanks for the tip, I was trying to use my droid to upload a pic.. no good. I am going to try to get the seat mounting situation done today and will upload some pics of that.

Progress has been very slow for me latley but here is a few pics of the bike with a better looking tank, rear fender(not bolted on yet), and the seat mock up... I dont know if Im liking the bike but most likley just cause its dirty and nothing is painted or bolted down. on the up side I had it running last night and it ran much better than I expected. next I will sand blast the tank and fender and spray them olive drab, and begin work on the "airtube"(airbox).. the airbox will be a chunk of pipe long enough to run a tube to each carb. then Ill attach a 4 or 6 inch air cleaner from autozone on each side.. im thinkin maybe the middle carbs will be robbed of air. whats everyone's take on that?

I turned some brass down at work to act as frame plugs and also the nuts to hold the rear seat and eventually the ammo can saddle bag brackets.. they are supposed to look like shell casings but whatever...

front fender is now history, looks much better. ive decided the seat must move forward so the springs rest on the frame support much lower, i will have to fabricate something to hold them there, and the front seat bracket may need to be redone. i am tempted to ditch the military theme with that blue tank on there, even though it looks rough it makes me want to go with a different color. should I paint the seat and battery box or try to shine up the box and let the seat rust...or clear coat the seat? Im taking all opinions so throw em out there!!!

Does anyone have some spair tank emblems around?? oh wait there is nowhere to put them. as you can see I blasted the tank and filled the dents and embem mounts with bondo. I was going to weld over them and grind it down but Ive never used bondo before.. I blasted the rear fender and then sanded down the rust and chrome, that is at my shop with a few coats of primer, I have also cut up a pair of KZ440 bars and tack welded them out some, then bent them in a bit more to form some mini-ape hangers. They ended up 3 inches taller with a downward angle to the ends. Is there a trick to getting that left hand grip off? Its still hanging on because I dont feel like fighting with it tonight.
