TOPIC:

the first frame i did i spent about $50.00 on aircraft stripper and got me and my wife chemical burnt.
then another $75.00 getting it sandblasted.
i then take it to my powder coater and he said he strips them before pc,even if they have been stripped because he says he wants to be sure they are clean.as he is the one responsible for the final product,it kinda makes sense.
that is the last time i stripped anything that was going to the pc'r.
that was my experience anyway.

leon, you forgot to tell me what color you got and what the pc charged?

WHOOHOOOO my frame and swing arm are in my roomys truck tied down and ready to go to the powder coater tomm at lunch. maybe friday it will be done...prob mon:dry:

cool, i was hoping to save a few bucks by getting the paint off, now that i am thinking i may have just wasted a lot of time. live and learn. any other pieces i give him will go just as they are. sandblasting sucks, i hope when i baking soda blast my motor and carbs it goes a lil easier. might have to borrow my brothers larger compressor.

Looks like a hell of a lot more work than sanding was for me

well these were loaded and tied down today. obviusly the bench is a bench. the spiral pipe is going to be a lamp. and of course the kz frame off to the powder coaters. i wish i knew how to post more than one pic in a post.

it is at the top of the pic the top of the frame is cutoff but you get the idea on color.
i paid $150.00 to pc the frame



i had some wheels done and he charged me 40 bucks a piece to do some 16x8 steel wheels glossy black.we have had lots of stuff done at the same place.

those rims are incredible.

well i went with a color called mirror black. ill have it by thurs, or friday. the patch on the neck of my frame might not make it through the baking, but he is not promising anything. oh well. ill have a before and after pic up for you guys.
