Looking Good! Paint is great for a spray bomb. Can't wait for the stripes.

Looks like you have a Kerker in chrome, wish mine was in such good shape.

I really like it! I usually only like them stock, bit this looks very tastefully done and not "Extreme Mad Max". Nice work.

Looks real nice! You can clean up the aluminum using a homemade soda blaster. I made mine after I did my resto (cleaned my engine by hand) but you can still use it, you just need to really seal up the intake or anywhere the baking soda can get into the engine. When you're done just wash it off a coupla times with water and some simple green.

I'm going to do mine once more in a couple weeks. i114.photobucket.com/albums/n248/Jeekinz/Z1/IMG_0629.jpg

Have the seat pan fitted and velcro set.. just need to put the pan on and redo a final piece of foam.
might go with a small/thinner tail light lense.. then ill be done for the summer.

Nice
I am doing something similar to my 1980 Kz650, but my bike sat in my uncles barn for the last 5 years so i have the entire bike torn down to frame after i made sure the darn thing still runs.
But i need some help pricing and finding some things such as :
Coils, Carb rebuild kit, assorted gaskets.
Does anyone know where the seat and front fender came from for this project?
How did you fit the battery under the seat hump? Is there a smaller option than the stock with same CCAmps?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Beard wrote: got the exhaust /clipons on.. started to paint.. its just a shake can.. no clear yet.. have to do the yellow and black lines, then clear.. probabaly in a couple years ill get a real paint job. forgot to put on the front fender.

everything is just mocked up. so ull see various wires and such out of place.. the seat is just sitting tehre.. no upholstery yet on the seat.. that will be the seat pan, a thin pad wrapped in black leather.

I love the Vance and Hines Exhaust! Want one for My 650 one of these days.
