Same tank I have on my 400. Love it.
What color are you going to go? Stick with the orange?

A few months have passed... this has just been sitting as I got on with life. I just got back to it after my move.
I don't know who made the old seat.
I don't remember how much the clipons were.
Sorry x2.
It is going to have an orange frame and a gray/black/orange paint job. Pics soon.

So I have had a bit of a setback with some parts.
The front end is a 1993 ZX6D. I finally found a front wheel and brakes, purchased them and they arrived only to find that the wheel is a 1993 ZX6E. On the E in 1993, they changed the axle size and this will not fit my current forks.
Now I have to either buy a new wheel or buy new forks. The stock wheel does have the correct axle size but will need a hefty shim for the wheel as well as shims for the brake calipers. That is why I went with the more modern wheel - would rather have the handling part of the bike be newer than rigged up a little bit.
I think it will be easier to get new forks since the D tires seem a little more difficult to find than E forks.

Hi,
Do you know where your tail section came from (the orange one)? I really like the look, I'd want to get myself something similar, do you know where?

I don't know where that specific one came from but it didn't rotate on frame very well - it kept hitting the frame.
You can get one like it here: www.airtech-streamlining.com/vintage/vintageseats.htm
This is where I got the Cafe seat.

25 Oct 2011 04:08Nice! I was thinking about modifying my frame similar to this so I could put the battery and electrical in the bubble of the tail. I may still do it...eventually. Bike is coming along nicely. Keep at it!

I hope you're using a sealed or acid-free battery!! :woohoo:
EDIT: I'm reading this thread backwards for some reason...I see you have an AGM battery, so the hinge is feasible for you
