Hi guys,I've already got too many projects but I came across a z1 900 built 4-73,wrong color and missing the right exhuast and grab handle but it runs,it even came with a "nice" Vetter fairing and King/Queen seat, those won't be going back on after the resto! Look forward to any help along the way but I have to finish a Kh400 triple first this winter.

Wow, that bike looks nice. What does it need to run? Are you plan on doing a correct restoration, or fixing it to ride?

Thanks,I'm going to restore it as close to original as possible but may change the bars to a lower set. Can't decide on paint color yet,orange/brown or green/yellow,first owner painted it black, second owner painted it red.

hey chris check out z1 enterprises they are selling complete correct repop body work already painted correctly for the year. for a decent price cheaper than stripping and fix stock stuff plus the tank won't have any rust inside.

That bodywork looks great but is the tank correct for a 73? That's the first thing I checked when buying this one, then the guages then the serial#'s. I have a great painter,he did an amazing job on the parts for my Kh400 triple, and he paints all the stripes on as well.

Heck of a find! If you are set on a painter, then you can get a match to the paint from www.paintworkz.com or he will paint it for you. Ralph, the owner, is a stand-up fellow. :)

From the picture the tank looks to be the correct small badge tank for a 73 Z1.

Nice find and love the triple paintwork
